Medical Books and CD ROMS for CHC Medical Library

 

To collect new/ second hand medical books for a central library for learning for Medical students, AMP, RMP and paramedical students.  

Following my visit here and since others have come from abroad there are requests for items/ books/ support for projects from various directions. The AMP students have requested books which I have purchased. The medical students are now requesting books from visiting doctors. Both AMP students and Medical students feels they want one copy of each book for their personnel learning. I feel that at this point in time when a Medical Practitioner is having to steam and reuse needles and there are many projects that are requiring funds.

I feel that a central library is what is required at the moment with may be up to two copies of each requested books so that they can be shared. If funds or second hand donations come through they can be added to the library and so will be a benefit for all and for future students rather than students having personal copies. The students are not quite happy but unless you are all prepared to buy 27 copies of each book for each student then having a library that is administered by CHC admin and a librarian is the most equitable for all students at present.

Funds or donations of items coming through one channel to CHC is the best way. As this will make it accountable to donors and supporters. Also they are keeping accounts and logs of all things donated and where they go. So it is best that overseas aid is channeled and accountable for the safety of your organization and donors.

To purchase new books and accept donations of second hand medical books.
