Eastern Flood Relief

With torrential rain and gales beating down on central and eastern Sri Lanka for nearly two weeks, more than 800,000 people are now stranded without basic supplies, and urgent requests for aid are coming in from the eastern province, particularly from the worse affected districts of Amparai, Batticoloa, Polonnaruwa and Tringomalee.

Taking the urgency into consideration some charities and few voluntary organisations have initiated a project called "Eastern Flood Relief" to mobilise all available resources to meet this urgency.

Indoor Sports 2010

 

Clothes Collection

Tamils Health Organization is having a clothes collection on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd  January 2010.
At Hindu temples and Tamil churches in London.

Please could you bring ‘nearly new clothes’ that can be given out to the 150,000 people in the camps in Sri Lanka. Also could you encourage your family and friends to give to this cause.

யுத்தத்தினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு சொல்லொனாத் துயரத்தினை அனுபவித்துவரும் எம்மக்கள் உடுக்க போதியளவு உடைகள் கூட இல்லாமல் மிகுந்த சிரமப்படுகின்றனர். பெண்கள் தங்களுக்கான மாற்று உடைகள் கூட இல்லாத நிலையில் உள்ளனர் . எம்மக்களின் துயர் துடைக்கவேண்டியது  எமது கடமையல்லவா? 

எனவே உங்களிடமிருந்து புதிய உடைகள் , துணிகள் என்பனவற்றினை நாங்கள் எதிர்பார்கிறோம் . அனைத்து வயதினருக்கான உடைகளையும் நீங்கள் தந்துதவலாம். புதிய உடைகள் எதிர்வரும் 1ம், 2ம், 3ம் திகதிகளில் அனைத்து கோயில்கள் மற்றும் தேவாலயங்களில் சேகரிக்கப்பட  உள்ளது. தங்களிடம் உள்ள புதிய உடைகளினை ( குளிர்கால உடைகள் தவிர்ந்த ) எங்களிடம் தந்துதவுமாறு உங்களை அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம். எமது மக்களுக்கு இந்த உடைகள் சரியான முறையில் சென்றடைவதற்கான அனைத்து வழிமுறைகளும் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Well Done Volunteer Doctors!

The THO-UK has organised a Walk-in health clinic at the  annual football event in South London. Volunteer doctors did basic medical check-up followed by a health advise to visitors. The money collection £185 will be send to Batticoloa Mobile clinic fund. Thank you Volunteer Doctors.Well Done!! and Thank you
