THO-UK is organising a workshop      WALKATHON - 2009

AIMS
*
       To promote mental health and well being among the Sri Lankan community in the UK. THO identified there is lack of mental health support in the Sri Lankan community in the UK.  The recent civil war in the 'home' makes anxiety and depression  among the community. Which resulted a number of silent suffers.

*       To help the community to coop with this suffering THO is organising workshops to train the volunteers to provide emotional support.

AIMS WALKATHON - 2009

       To promote health and fitness among the Tamil community in the UK. Lack of exercise increases the risk of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and coronary heart disease.

*       All proceeds will go towards the ‘Emergency Health Fund’ in the war torn areas of Sri Lanka.

MIOT officers were handing over a cheque for £10,000 to CHC Representative at the THO-UK  Conference 2004 in London. MIOT has donated £10,000 towards the project 6(a).

Well Done Volunteer Doctors!

The THO-UK has organised a Walk-in health clinic at the  annual football event in South London. Volunteer doctors did basic medical check-up followed by a health advise to visitors. The money collection £185 will be send to Batticoloa Mobile clinic fund. Thank you Volunteer Doctors.Well Done!! and Thank you

Northern Tamils Association in UK (NTA-UK) have collected £520.00 on their annual cultural evening on May 2004. The money goes to the Project 14 towards the monthly running cost. Thank you NTA-UK
